  13. I used my External USR Sportster 33.6kbps modem (claimed to be PnP) in 
  14. Asia-Pacific area: Hong Kong. I and MOST of my friends have encountered 
  15. the following problems when using in Win95 platform:
  16.  
  17. 1)    "The Program is not receiving response from the modem, U should 
  18.     unpluged the cord and power on again" - Win95
  19.     The above message usually appeared when the modem have dialed
  20.     about 30 -70 times.....
  21. 2)    The modem easily got disconnected BEFORE handshaking / login EVEN 
  22.     THOUGH the line is NOT BUSY! (problem in Asia region mostly)

  24. ********USR has promised to send me a Supervisor chip update, but I still 
  25. waiting up to now!!! 
  26.  
  27. 3)    Although PnP is marked on the package box, the Win95 software can 
  28.     automatically detect it!
  29. 4)    ATI7 commands returns the following:
  30.     clock freq: 92MHz
  31.     EPROM date: 10/18/95
  32.     ATI11 returns errors!
